Here are a few pieces from a couple of trips, found on  a gentle sloping field above a small roman site, seeded with maize. I wish all roman coins come up in such nice condition as the one in picture...I can't make my mind up on the enamelled mount looks a bit roman but could be medieval any thoughts welcome as usual. Also is it me or does the bronze piece show eyes or is it upside down and part of some other decorated item ?? so many questions Lol...

Well done again Paul. Yes great Roman, wouldn't say no to one like that.
The bronze bit does seem to have eyes and eyebrows. It reminds me of the portrait on Henry 2nd pennies. Wonder if there's a connection.

Nice finds Paul Wink

The enamelled stud/mount is a tough one? The medieval ones tend to be more heraldic, so im thinking more Roman with that pattern too, the shape is a little odd tho, it could of been a circle Cheesy

Hi Dale, yeh I have to agree it feels and looks more Roman so I'm pleased with that...good point re being a former circle ??  Wink
