Hi All, Got back a couple of hours ago from our trip to Devon. We stayed on a campsite 26 miles North of Plymouth, on arrival last Thursday we met friends who work on the site and they introduced us to the owner. I noticed on the campsite map that there was a camping field of about 2 acres which was for tents only and was empty.
I asked the owner Colin if I could detect on the field and you could've knocked me down with a feather when he said "course you can, you can detect anywhere you want" Talk about giving a donkey strawberries!
Friday morning bright and early I was up and in the camping field and found a total of £23.29p all in decimal coinage, I went back to my van for lunch and returned to the field for another couple of hours and found a further £7.43p again all decimal.
Saturday I went to the dog walking field and found another £11.05p in the morning and £9.51p in the afternoon. Decimal.
The rest of the week I spent with my wife and friends and I found out that the site had been re-covered with topsoil and returfed just 3 years ago so a total of £51.28p ain't bad for a few hours work.
I can't help wondering what's buried under all that topsoil tho'
Richy.
