There comes a time in every rightly constructed boys life when he has a raging urge to go somewhere and dig for hidden treasure.

i know a field that produced a similar array of brooches about 25 years ago in the midlands. nearly everybody in the metal detecting club who went there had a few.

every one was damaged. the local archaeologists thought it was a manufacturing site, and the broken brooches were for recycling.
