Hi Folks
Me and Ron took his beehive on holidays yesterday.  We positioned the hive in the corner of a shining yellow rape field and opened it to allow the bees a glimpse of their new larder for a while.  Then we left them to get busy and made our way to a newly seeded sugar beet field.  Freshly rolled and easy digging.  Not many signals and finds in this field, though I managed a Charles 1st half groat and a nice buckle, whilst Ron had a few farthings in his bag.  The remainder of our finds were buttons, lead etc.  I also had what looks like a hand made rustic brooch as the ends are welded and the curves are positive.  (ID if possible).  It was a lovely few hours, the bees are happy and we had a bit of detecting.  Marvellous!!  And we're out again tomorrow.
Happy Digging!!  Tom.
