Has been suggested it`s a Barrel Key,early 18th Century.

yes mate, the suggestion is certainly right,  nice nik too, it fits into the barrle lock in the top.  there were several different types.
 I'd say yours was 18th to 19th centuary

Stig - what did you use to clean that up - came up looking lovely?!? I know a few people frown upon cleaning stuff - but I would rather see it on display in its all glory than rotting away in a grot box.  Whats your secret?

My grandmother had a wall clock that used a key just like that it was about 90 years old nice find.

hi stig. nice key mate at this time i got 46 of them i and i like collecteing
them, found them all exept 3 of them that hedgehog gave me three.
