Confirmed. It is Neolithic circa 3500 years old.  To me this is better then a gold or Hammered coin.

Would have been nice if it had been whole but maybe then it wouldn't have been thrown away.

Thanks for the comments guys. Couldn't believe my eyes when I picked it up and saw the shape and felt how smooth it is. I instantly knew what it was and was literally awestruck.
Find of a life time I reckon. Sounds daft, I know but there are probably more gold coins around than polished Neolithic axes. Even broken ones.
Haven't been to the farm since before Xmas so didn't know what to expect. Imagine how pleased I was when I found ploughed, rolled and just seeded fields to play in. Last time I saw them they were full of huge maze stalks.
They say timing is everything. It sure was for me.
