Well, it is a denarius of Marcus Aurelius, and probably dates to around 170AD.

There are a number of types with a seated figure left, and I haven't found one yet that has the right legend spacing for yours, but I've attached an example with a different reverse legend to give you the idea - and with the 170's beard type of Aurelius

No problem - I've collected roman for longer than anything else now Smiley

I think I am narrowing down the coin - from what I can read on the reverse I think I can see '.....RED TRP X.....'

So it's probably a FORT RED TRP XX etc type coin - please see the latest thought Smiley
