What a lovely find - a serious 'Back of the Net' on that!

Well done Lewis

well done jammiedigger for putting the coin on, here is the write up..........
Chick type 161, Blunt 108, same dies, the only recorded example being the British Museum coin with the chunk out of it. The other coin of this moneyer, Chick 162, Blunt 109, (Same obverse die, different reverse) is in the Royal coin cabinet in Stockholm, so it is likely that this is the only coin of this moneyer in private hands. Chick has revised Blunt's dating of the East Anglian light coinage to c.780/5-792/3.
• Offa was King of Mercia, a kingdom of Anglo-Saxon England, from 757 until his death in July 796. The son of Thingfrith and a descendant of Eowa, Offa came to the throne after a period of civil war following the assassination of Æthelbald.
