Where am I?

« on: February 20, 2016, 07:53:07 AM »

Is acid soil a natural occurrence or is it brought about by Industrial fall out. We have been surrounded by Oil Refineries and Power Stations for 40+ years. I'm guessing that fallout from these industrial sites will have had an effect on our local soil and hence the metal artifacts in it. What do you think.

A lot of soil is acidic, that's why the farmers spread lime  on the fields to alter the pH industrial pollution makes it worse though..

Hi Steve, regarding "acidious"soils, apparently its also that cattle and sheep contribute a hell of a lot to the demise of coins and artifacts with all the wee & POO thats been deposited over the years.!!!
With regards to he refinery's,I would have thought that they may have even helped to protect the coins and artifacts, well that is judging by the amount of oil slick I get when I jetwash my patio !!....LOL.... Just a thought 👍😁
