I must have missed this one - is it an old series?

it's very strange whatever it was / is, but they've been digging for years and haven't found anything much yet - how can they have a series on it?

New series probono.  2 Brothers, starting from scratch but bringing all the old info. together plus 2 old timers who've been there before.
They located the money pit, which had been lost over time. Also another pit that was dug by the side of it after the money pit flooded.  It was reported that whoever dug the 2nd pit had hit an open space at 180ft and a camera had picked up what looked like a box and possible human remains.
That's the one they've cleared out ready to send a diver down. It's in 2 sections, top part no trouble but the bottom section is only 27inches wide  Shocked   Imagine trying to dive through that, scary  Shocked
Next program is  Wed 10pm on History channel.  Seems they find a Roman sword on a new dig.  Didn't think the Romans got to the Americas so it'll be interesting to see what they make of it.
Don't know if it's on 'catch up' haven't looked.

I tried watching it once but only got through 15 minutes before I had to and take a shower as I felt sullied and my intelligence insulted Grin
I think the only money involved in Oak Island is the money they make from the TV series Undecided

As for the sword Val apparently you can buy them as a souvenir ....

Got to admit Geoff my initial reaction was the same as yours. Only watched it a second time cause I couldn't find anything better.  I sort of got hooked after that.
Amusing how many different theories have been discussed. Quite out landish.
S'pose you didn't catch the series about the brothers searching for proof that Giants lived in the past.  Roll Eyes Grin

Folks,

Even though I live in Canada I've always been skeptical about the Oak Island treasure....they've been chasing it for over 100 years....the tunnel system is way to complex for pirates to have made it....scratch that.

And even though the Knights Templar with all their wealth and knowledge might have be able to pull it off....pretty much all of them got whipped out courtesy of the King of France who sent his knights out to kill them so he wouldn't have to pay his outstanding debts to them.....just as a general comment that's when the bad luck Friday the 13th started because that was the date they were slaughtered.

If Oak island was so important, I'm sure TimeTeam would have got there and sorted it out in three days Smiley

Do you remember that episode where someone found a La Tene sword in Wales, but it turned out (whilst some of the artefacts were genuine), the whole thing had been set up?

I do find productions on the History Channel or Discovery Channel often insult my intelligence, although like Val I'm sometimes drawn in to the drama of the amazing claims these people make.

Hi Bill from lachine, thanks for the link I had not seen that one before. Very interesting.
I'm from your neck of the woods but live in pei now just a few hours drive away from oak island for anyone who is not familiar with Canada.  But I must say I lived in the UK for for a while and I sure do miss it there.
