                                      An interesting suggestion but I wouldn't know. It is more heavy duty than a tea caddy spoon. Based on the map references for a number of my other finds, I think that the spoon is about to become a "key"!  Grin

have a look at some of these Chris and you'll see what I mean about the bowl.  If yours wasn't squished it 'might' appear more round and it 'might' fit nicely with some of those illustrated.

                 Thanks Val, I have had trawl through those and this is one that looks most like mine, but sadly I can't see any date associated with it.

                 I am beginning to suspect that my spoon may be from the late 1700s to the early 1800s, based on some of my other finds.

Chris, if you click on the picture of the one that looks most like yours the screen will expand. Then click on 'visit page' and you should find a lot more info. re. date and material used, also in some instances the price.
