...Hallo. nearly because I'm not quite there yet, we're putting in an offer on a house near St Harmon tomorrow, ever hopeful me! So I thought I'd better join your group just in case. We're moving from Bath, I've been 'tecting for about 15 years and had some lovely finds in the Bath area and am looking forward to carrying on my best hobby in Wales.

Welcome to the Forum Carol.  Hope all goes well with your purchase. Don't think you could get much closer to the middle of Wales, Gods own Country

I think you'll find the finds a bit thinner than the Bath area but the scenery is better.

Thanks ever so for the nice welcomes.

Yesterday our offer was accepted on the house we're trying to buy in Powys!!

My neighbours here in Bath were treated to the edifying sight of Mrs Carol B doing the chicken dance up and down the street, y'know, that very special dance usually reserved for finding a nice silver or gold coin in a field. I expect they'll be glad to get rid of me. Outrageous behaviour.

We'll be moving in early January if all goes to plan, probably in the bitter cold, ice and snow, but we'll cross that slippery bridge when we come to it. My timing was never very good.

I'm looking forward to meeting folk on here online and in person, meanwhile I'll be catching up through the forum pages.

Hope your actual move day goes well,always keep the tea making stuff on hand,kettle,teapot,mugs t/spoons,teabags/coffee milk,biscuits if your wealthy!!

Thanks, and good tip re the tea coffeee mugs and biscuits!

We might as well of bought a season ticket for the number of times we've travelled to Wales looking at houses..it's going to cost a whole lump of money when we actually move, removal lorry, car, land rover, caravan, horsebox. Ouch!

16 years ago it cost us £125 to move the horse down.  Mind you he was a pro. with a carrier on his way to Ireland. Should have taken a photo. He came down the ramp looking like Desert Orchid in his purple and gold edged rug. Ahh  those were the days.
And we had to have a second van to bring all my pots and plants and cage birds. Would have been cheaper to buy them all again. Roll Eyes
I'm sure you'll think it's worth every penny when you pull up outside your new home.
