I just found these after a bit of searching on the net: http://www.detecnicks.co.uk/Tesoro_Laser_Coil_Extension_Lead_4_Or_5_Pin.html

Not sure if the plugs will match  Huh

Just out of interest, why do you need an extension? are your arms three metres long lol Cheesy

Detectniks did do them, or you can buy the plugs from eBay, not 100% sure but I think some guitar cables are the same, but if you talk to minelab, they will tell you that extending the cable, will alter the signal strength, that's what they told me.

You could have a word with Steve Cox at Metaldetectorrepair.com     He shortened a coil lead for so he would certainly lengthen yours. S'pose there's a chance he 'might' sell you the bits.

Hi David Minelab will probably tell you it's specialised cable that will cost you an arm and a leg or as Jon has that it will alter the resistance of the coil and mess up the machine.....the resistance bit is true and "may" effect the depth reading it could also "theoretically" alter the id readout though for the length your talking about probably not. The Minelab bbs and fbs coils use a twin shielded coaxial cable and the easiest available is a good quality S-video cable such as

Hi geoff,

it's not a mine lab coil i will do it with an ultimate,  i also have a spare ultimate coil  so can use some of the cable and the male connector  and actually thinking about it i have a broken explorer se so could potentially nick the female connector i will take a good look at if thats feasible , im not much of a DIY er  but can perhaps find some one who is

It doesn't matter what make it's the system if you have the parts then have a go because if you have a coil cable with a male fitting already then all you have to do is fit the female connector Wink
