The profile of the face is not detailed enough and also the mint mark is wrong and the coin is too uniform in shape .I have found a hammered of this era  and everything about it is tottally wrong  Cry iam gutted for you  Cry its got a edward v1 southwark mint mark on it and his profile is tottaly different on a genuine coin southwark mintmark is an E

Try the spit and foil test , if no smell not silver, looks like it may be a pewter replica, if the back is blank then that doesn't fit in with the condition of the rest of the coin, they just don't come out of the ground like that, Sorry Digga! Cry

I bet you're gutted with that - as you say someone maybe trying to wind you up, but if it was six inches down in undisturbed pasture, it must have been there some time. I have to agree that it is a repro though Cry
