I eventually made it to the beach by 0700 hrs on Sunday and  swung the Safari till lunchtime. Not a very rewarding day but the weather was dry and a fresh wind kept the sweat at bay.

The best I could mange was £1.11p in decimal coinage, a couple of pieces of lead plate from a lead acid battery, a twelve bore shotty bottom, a 410 shotty bottom, a 0.22 projectile, an impacted 0.22 projectile, a 0.22 airgun pellet, one doggy tag, and a fist full of copper scrap from WWII. Oh, and of all things; a rubber bathtub plug with brass fitting!

Interestingly, I bumped into Tim Johnson the new dunes ranger in the area, and we had a long interesting chat about Crown Permits and the history of the sands at Talacre. Despite the lack of better finds; I did pick up on a few more clues to follow up on when I next detect there.

Thanks for the comment m8. Although it wasn't a day for good finds, the weather was pretty good and my back held up reasonably well.  Wink
