High Deucedoes, yes,I go along with Mark,some sort of "cricket" buckle, also looks like there was something else on the buckle plate at some time!!
Just had another thought,Do wicket keepers go onto one knee? OR do they squat ?
If they don't go onto one knee,then what in the hell is he doing?LOL..👍

Nice find for you.

These buckle plates depicting cricket images were very popular during the Victorian and Edwardian era.

Here is a comical one that found a while back. Wink Wink Smiley  Jerry.

the game of cricket really took off in popularity from 1850 to 1870. One of the key factors of this development was the coming of the railway, which allowed teams and supporters to travel greater distances to play competitive matches.  With the increase in popularity, also came the development of souvenirs.

I suspect if it is a cricket buckle then its probably from this period. 

As an aside, the first ever cricket international was in 1844, between USA and Canada! How things change!  Grin Grin  But having said that, i have played cricket in Toronto and this year i watched some cricket being played in Vancouver, mainly by people from sri lanka, india, pakistan and west indies.
