Some of the more interesting finds from a recent outing.
The decorated piece which is attached to a shank is quite intreaguing, its made of bronze,or similar, all comments are most welcome, thanks for looking.
By the way,the dinner fork has a WD+arrow, denoting it was issued to the military, the date also stamped on the back of the fork is 1939,it was found on meadow lands associated with army activities to this day.👍

I definitely recognise the first item. One of those was one of my first finds and I thought it was a civil war buckle.  Roll Eyes It is half of a horse bit.   At lest your finding some domestic stuff, that's promising, keep digging.

Many thanks to Wittsey1, and all of you who have left a comment.
At the moment, the permissions that I am lucky to have seem to be getting a little more difficult to winkle out it's secrets each time I venture on them, yes of course I enjoy every moment swinging the coil, out there in the wonderful country side of West Wales, but, recently I have been considering digging more iron signals,it is easy to say" bloody iron again"but I'm asking myself, more and more,"yes iron" but in what format, and of course also remembering that we did have an iron age,so surely, sometimes,if your working on what appears to be baren land and getting despondent,if you get another iron signal, give it a dig,and yep! it will probably be junk, but, it might just be a very interesting piece of bygone iron age history, just a passing thought!!👍

Digging Iron Signals. Every now and then I decide to dig all iron signals and that's exactly what I get. Nuts, bolts, bits of ploughs etc, etc, and sometimes its bloody hard work digging them out especially when it's a big chunk that's quite deep. But you are right ding dong there are ancient iron items in the ground so if you have got the patience, go for it. At the very least, you will be clearing the ground of all the scrap ready for me to come along  Grin
