Hi All,
Had an hour out on a local permission last night and turned this up, actually close to the possible horse harness. When it came out of the ground with soil holding it together, I thought it was just a loop of wire, now I'm not to sure. It appears to be uniform in shape and seems to have metal remains on the outer loop on the base, could be a possible brooch?
Hope that one of the experts can shed some light on this for me.

Thank
Smoo

2nd one on the Forum in a week Smoo.  Start eating lots of Ice Cream, the tubs are really useful.  Grin

That's an idea Val but it is also very widening as I tend to be the one who eats it all, I know more restraint is in order but its so nice. Smiley
I've been able to get out for an 1hr - 1hr 1/2 most nights this last week, been fortunate to pick up some nice little finds. I put my finds into sectioned plastic box's, one for each farm and I now have one for the latest field as so much is coming out of it (not all good though).

That's what I used to do Smoo.  Ice cream tubs for each field, just in case the Farmer wanted to see what I'd found. I ended up with tubs everywhere and was never asked about the finds.
Eventually, when I was laid up by thrombosis for 3 months last year, I had a sort out.  I now have far fewer tubs with just 1 for specific items.
It's amazing though that I can still remember where I found the 'nicer' things, even 5 years on.
