Had a good night last night and this was the best of the finds.
Think its a fan tail brooch, not sure of age or particular type but I'm very pleased with it.

Wow that's a bit good Will pin and all, I have to say can't give you a type without consulting the books but it's certainly 1st century and probably a derivative of what's known as a Lion brooch, the tail could point to it having a Germanic influence Huh I'll have a better look later Wink

Thanks Chef that's some good info there. I'd be interested to find out more. I did find a similar designed one last year not far away but not a fantail.
