yep i have read a few posts on other sites re this ...  most say works fine but then someone will come along and talk about the lag ,  im assuming the lag would make pinpointing difficult

No, not really David. The delay is minimal  and as far as pinpointing is concerned not a problem.  If you get a 'strait' signal you still have to find the sweet spot.
I s'pose it depends on how fast you walk and swing the head. That in part depends on your machine.  With the Safari, which I had at the time, fast is not the way to go anyway. Some machines recover more quickly from one signal to the next. It's something you get used to as you get to know what your machine is saying to you.

If the Detectorbits works then you won't do much better price wise.  I was lucky with the ear phones. I phoned the supplier before I ordered for confirmation they would be compatible. They were surprised as they'd never sold any for detecting before. The outcome was their tech. man couldn't think of any reason why not and they had a few they were selling less than half price because the boxes were damaged. Still came with full warranty. When they arrived they were in original packaging anyway.

Go on try it, you know you want to.

having the explorer se like all minelab owners im very aware of weight , what does the kit add in weight to the machine ?

I have managed to make my explorer realy light ,  so dont want to go back to a heavy machine

Zoom into my 1st pici at the transmitter. The one I've got weighs 10grams.  That's the only extra that actually fits on the machine.

I had a look at the Detectorbits package and its seems much the same as my set up except the ear phones. Thiers look a bit on the flimsy side and personally I don't like them.
The ones I bought from Sound Lab are cracking. Must admit they were my 2nd ones. In theory you can use any Blue Tooth phones but like most things there's phones and there's PHONES.

Forgot to mention. The 1st thing you notice is the weight of the phones.  You hardly notice you've got them on they are so light.
