Hi all
I had a couple of hours yesterday evening and came up with these few bits .Any idea what the military looking
thingy is and also am i right in saying the buckle ( top right ) is a type 11a no 84 1375-1500 ? I would be greatful for any comments

As Chris says it's a receiving buckle plate, dating is a bit tricky as although they were worn in the late Georgian/Napoleonic era the same system are still used today.
When you say type 11a etc what reference are you using Huh

C.J. Metal Detecting Finds, Buckles through the Ages  14th - 15th cent.  and yes it is the same.

                     I think the German military and our Boy Scouts all used a similar buckle. I think the German one was embossed with the message "Gott Mit Uns". But I didn't realise that the buckle design was so old.
