I am thinking of upgrading my Garrett ace 250  Undecided
Wondering what would be a good detector for around the £350 mark.
Thanks in advance for your views. Wink

Hi Loner
Once you decided which machine you want  Keywords the Machine you interested in ,look at all the reviews to make sure its for you,
Dont be affaid of the used market. a lot of machines are bought by People who think looking for and finding treasure is as easy as falling off a log.
Im a big fan of ebayer your £350 could Buy you a machine worth a good deal more.
I recently sold an Xterra 70 with a case and coils for £350 and it had been used 3 times

Good luck with your Search

Hi Loner  Smiley
where do you detect mostly? For £350 I would buy good S/H or ex demo T2 or Fisher 70, or maybe if you could stretch £50 more a  Fisher 75,For great all round detector Explorer 11 pick them up no prob for £350 now, It does depend what ground you detect on and if you like ID meter or not, and what your hoping to find.  Smiley

Hello Loner, personally I think that any opinion would be biased!
For example, I use a Whites MXT & an XP Goldmaxx so I would suggest you buy one of those!

Do you belong to a club?

Is their anyone who would lend you a machine to try out?

I really think that antone wanting to buy a machine should think carefully about which one that they'd like & then find someone willing to let you try it out on the field.

I made the mistake of buying a brand new machine for £725 not too long ago & I only used it for about 2 hours in the 8 months that I owned it!

Thanks for your opinions guys, i'm usually detecting farm land and a few runs to the beach. Definately would like an ID meter, i like the lcd screen on the garrett i have now so something similar would be good. I like the idea of maybe a minelab or fisher, i know both are top makes so should be tried and tested designs. Should narrow my search a bit.
I'm not a member of a club and i dont know anyone else with a detector so gonna really be buying blind. I'll try and gather some good info on a machine i like and go from there. Anyone out there with the minelab explorer 2 can give me their opinion on that. Wink
