Well this time of year is difficult to find some ware to search; fields are in crop so scarce, unless you have pasture cut which I am not keen on unless very wet to allow easy digging. Yesterday I went to a field that looks good especially as in the back ground of the picture you can see a long barrow, however it was 303’s after 303’s until this little Awl popped up? Today I had to take a trip to my daughters and was there till 12 noon, however as I had the Deus in the boot I found myself 30 minutes later on a field that was in bird cover and next door to a field that produces Roman, it’s the only field available at the moment in this area. I had visited it yesterday but unfortunately as soon as I got out the car I was plagued by horse flies, hundreds of them and we all know what there bite is like so I retreated, today there was a good breeze and they were not around as much. Any way I only had 1 hour as I had to be at work, some would say hardly worth the effort? So the early Roman 1st century brooch made the day. Wink Wink

Like the shot of the poppies.

I still think it was worth it if you found a coin and a brooch.

The fields round my way have recently been cut, but in my last outing there (and getting bitten, and almost a week later the bites still haven't gone) all I managed was a button and a bit of shrapnel........oh and two cow tubes

I was going to say welcome to the mundane, or to us the normal but even there you manage to find something nice.

Well found Paul. Wink

When I was working in Korea a few weeks ago, I heard ordinance being tested (fairly close to the factory) pretty much every day, but thankfully it was just South Korea making sure their stuff worked. Smiley
