That looks a bit interesting Paul, it has the style of a Mercian but not with both sides being the same what size are we talking about? Sceat size???

Well if it's Carolingian then yes Saxon period, think of Charlemagne 8th-9th century he's about the only person to have kicked seven sorts of um? "night soil" out of the Saxons Wink

I too haven't found it yet (but I am at work....) - it could do with a wash under a tap - is it possible to say in mm how big it is - I know you said penny size, but that did change Smiley

Hi Roland, will put better pictures up tonight and measurements Wink its a mate who found it on my site I know hes washed it now so should look better. Here you go any good Roland ? I haven't got measurements yet though, I would guess around 14 mm. I know its not Ideal mate. Certainly bigger than a sceat. Wink
