hi all was good to be out today, in amongst the cows, soon fled when i started talking about wanting a big mac! got plenty of the usual buttons / buckles / coppers and late in the day, this surprise Roman! snapped my spade just prior to this, so spade shopping tomorrow  Cheesy
just managed to nab find of the day from Keith  Wink and what a prize, just need to win one of the next patch of xp caps now! thanks a lot Keith!

scared to clean the Roman at the moment, so these pics are the best i can do for now. it measures 27mm and any i.d would be appreciated.

That's a beauty it's a Follis of Maximianus from around 300 AD Wink

Maximianus AE Follis. ca 300 AD. IMP C MAXIMIANVS P F AVG, laureate cuirassed bust right / GENIO POPVLI ROMANI, Genius standing left, holding patera and cornucopiae, no mintmark.
