I found an aluminium bird ring on a recent club dig , it was from Estonia. Had a reply today after reporting it and it is off a common gull ringed in 1986 ! Have any other members reported rings and had a result ?

I reported one years ago. Just a bit different though.  It was still on a live pigeon.  A message was passed onto the owner who contacted us.  After some discussion about who, what and where he told us to wring it's neck !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shocked

Seems they are seldom any good after getting lost and he didn't want it back.  Neither was he willing to pay the cost of it being sent to him (by pigeon post)  Roll Eyes

Needless to say I've never bothered again. Oh, and we didn't wring it's neck. It hung around for days while we fed it and then flew off.
