JR Star & Cross   is Joseph Rogers & Sons,  Sheffield.   The Gothic M is poss. 1834

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.  What is it, it looks nice.

Well done Val spot on, the only thing I would add is that it doesn't have Victoria's bust on it so is after 1890 and with that M it narrows it down to 1904 Wink

Cheers guys its a spoon Val not a find  scrap I bought spoon looks plated to me or stainless and crudely made cheers all

Can't see it being anything other than silver with those Hall Marks.  I might be wrong but I'm fairly sure stainless doesn't have them and plate is marked differently.
Have you tried the foil test ?
