MAD COWS EAT METAL DETECTORISTS !!!🐂🐂🐂🐂🐂🐂

« on: April 16, 2015, 06:40:24 PM »

This(coin???)came to light on an outing to a new permission yesterday. It appears to be made of bronze or brass,on one side it has depictions of two (monarchs??) Facing each other, roughly in the style of the early Edward or even earlier. There also seems to be a scroll (lettering not visible) by the side of each portrait.
On the other side of the (coin??) there are markings but are so faint they are not decipherable.... Its got a lot of history on it....but what is it??....PLEASE!!

Now that is a strange one for any part of the country it is as Mike says a coin weight but this one is for a gold excellente from the reign of  Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain so the 1480's Wink

That is a different type of coin weight - just reading Wolf Hall at the moment - perhaps it came over with Queen Katherine......
