MAD COWS EAT METAL DETECTORISTS !!!🐂🐂🐂🐂🐂🐂

« on: April 06, 2015, 07:54:33 PM »

Hi to you all,I have just acquired a minelab sovereign which I thoroughly enjoy using. At present the control box is mounted beneath the armcup,I know it can be hip or chest mounted but I am wondering if it is possible to locate it in the conventional position ie:in front of you,if this is possible can it be achieved with the clamps which are currently used?

Many thanks in anticipation DD

hi ding i have a sov elite, my sov control box was mounted on the stem below the armcup, but i have seen others mounted behind the arm cup, but i have mine in a shoulder bag, makes swinging a lot easier, my sov only had the lower clip on it when i had it,so couldn,t mount it behind the arm cup,  hope this helps.

Yes you can in fact that's how it comes "out of the box" like this

For better ergonomics the top shaft mounting is better but you need a clip

But the best of all is to get a straight shaft it makes the Sov a completely different animal to use

Hi dingdong, you can buy the fixing bracket, as seen on the first picture of the elite, it is rivited on, you might find it easier on the wrist then a straight shaft.

They are difficult to come by now ever since they stopped making the Sov and even then they weren't cheep, best advice would be to keep an eye out on ebay Wink

Correction! shows how much I know Undecided The straight stem set up for the Sov is the same one that's used on the GPX series so you can still buy them but they come in parts ie stem, handle, bracket but still not cheap at £80 for those three bits Shocked

hi ding  its me again the pain in the arrrm,  i was thinking why can,t you carefully drill the rivet out and mount your clip where you want it,might be worth a try, and cost you nothing but a bit of time and work oops 4 letter word sorry lol.
