Not a great deal to show for the wow factor but some interesting bits none the less, Wink the Brocken brooch is another Colchester nice and early, the gold looking button had me looking at it in the clod of soil for a while with heart pounding and thinking my god my first Roman Gold Shocked, I would be interested as to what the bell like lead object is in the middle I am sure I have seen something like this before some where Huh but can remember when, I'm sure its from the roman period. The bronze ring was 10 inches deep and has the most lovely patina and feel to it, some sort of harness Huh once again very ancient and more than likely from the roman period even though we all dig these up and are much more modern Wink Wink

At least you're being brave enough to get out Paul.  I hate the wind (no rude comments please) even more than the rain.

Some interesting finds, maybe your bell shaped item is a candle snuffer.  I have a brass ring, like yours, sitting on the window ledge outside. Beautiful green patina. Found it a couple of years back but now use it as a link for hanging basket.

Better luck with gold coin today  Wink
