Detecting Wales next rally will be held in Leominster, there will be approximately 80 acres to play with. The majority of this acreage will be pasture with a small amount of ploughed.

The meeting time will be 9.00am and the rally will start at 9.30 am. The rally will finish at 5.00pm.

This will be a DetectingWales.com members only rally and I'm afraid everyone attending must be over 16 years of age. Usual terms and conditions apply. Everyone who attends does so at their own risk and we recommended that everyone has civil liability insurance. If you are a member of a club you will probably already have this. Please check.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

The location of the rally will be sent by private message to everyone who has signed up the day before the rally.

Entry is  £7 per person, pay on the day.

For those of you travelling to this rally over the Rhigos Mountain (A4061 Treherbert to Hirwaun), we have just  received a letter stating that the road will be closed from 6pm on 10th April to 6am on 13th April so you will need to make alternative travel arrangements.

cheers

if their stuck for a pc that's fine but they must be DW members and be insured ( ncmd or fid ) to attend rallies

It says at the top of post that to attend rallys we recommend that you have insurance? Is this a must have as I see a post from mike further down saying you must you have insurance ?Recommend/must have  kinda confusing? As I don't have it and I read that a lot of peeps don't buy it as it seams a waste of money for somin that will never be used. I mean what does it realy cover against and has anybody or anybody you no ever had to use just wondering ?

Hi Matt it's just a "Recommended" not a "Must". As with all insurance it's a waste of money until the day you need it but no I have never known of anyone to need or use it, it covers accidents and injury caused as a result of detecting...holes unfilled, gates left open, fences broken etc etc but on a rally it's more for the landowners peace of mind as if anything happened as a result of a rally then there's only one person the land owner is going to come looking for and that's the organiser. Ok great thanks for that. I think all metal detecting Clubs should then have just 1 club insurance for everyone because as you said the farmer would just come looking for the organiser and how could he then prove who dident fill there hole in or left a gate open when 100 peeps been roaming around all day.

I personally show my insurance to any farmer I approach so as they have piece of mind before letting me on their property, and in one case it was the deciding factor to allow me on their land
