That is a brilliant find Muddy is it silver? it certainly has that Viking styling though it appears to be cast to look like two twisted rings as opposed to the original Norse version of two actual rings so an English version of the fashion, the script certainly seems to pin it to the 12th to 14th century. What part of the country was it found? Don't forget to post up your FLO's report when you get it as that's an exciting find Wink

Hi geff yes its siver with 2 very fine silver twisted wire between the larger wire so its not cast only the bar with inscription is cast had another freind look through his microscope he thinks its late 10th century Huh, another pic added to try and show fine wire twist thanks

Right area but I can't make out any Nordic symbols, as in runes.   It's a very nice find all the same and will be interesting to hear what you FLO makes of it.
