Its pretty obvious what it is but can anyone shed some light on its period?

It looks like it was mounted and I checked the surrounding area thoroughly for the arms to no avail Undecided

Probably 1800's it would have been mounted on a cross, usually wood.  A lot of Christian families had a similar cross hanging in the house which would have been blessed by the parish Priest.
