Anyone got a fix for the above going off on contact with any soil and keeping beeping even when away from the soil  ?

Try padding out the top of the battery compartment and also only try and use Energiser or Duracell batteries the contacts at the bottom of the compartment tend to bend down after a while and although all PP3 batteries should be the same size they aren't with the Energiser being the biggest, you can try, very gently, to bend the contacts up a little. Wink

did have a problem with my pointer falsing returned and  garrett replaced as faulty

I usually find that slinging it across the field and calling it a useless g*t does the job,(I know im not the only one to do this either)

yeh i'm not all that impressed with them but whats the alternative , i've seen some are trying the makro but not seen or tried one myself

Early reports are very good, my old mate Deadlock is loving his Makro and hasnt regretted ditching his Garrett. He has done a youtube video of it. The clips got a link on here somewhere, cant find it at the moment
