Had a outing in a field I've hit quite hard  all this rain has soaked well into the soil so Targets should be easier to get out. First decent signal turned out to be this broken roman brooch I still don't no how it eluded me in the summer,  then usual lead but then then this Edward penny followed by what I thought was a cut half??  Two more steps out popped the other part of the Edward penny expect it's plough damaged  and also Had A spindle whoul.

Nice one I think this recent rain has helped with the signals I found my last 4 hammereds on stubble which I'd done to death in the summer!

Nice finds Alun.  Got to love the patina on the brooch.  Good start to the new year, more to follow. Wink

Not a bad day finding two halves of a broken coin and also a whole one. It's been a long time since I found two hammereds in a day.

There do seem to be quite a few hammereds popping up in the last week (even I managed one) - perhaps the weather / time to get out and detect has something to do with it Smiley
