Ever since i have been metal detecting i drive every day past an estate with all its park land,  a 12 century castle, a franciscan monestery, a deserted medieval village are all in the grounds  i ve looked at it just wishing and wishing i could go on that land

I have after 6 months of trying i got permission to detect it , spent two sessions so far and found hardly a thing a couple of thimbles,  modern coinage and of course scrap.   i cant believe it i was so sure it would be loaded

i have not given up  yet of course but grass is always greener comes to mind

If its estate parkland, then it may not have ever seen a plough, if so the majority of the finds may be out of reach.
Keep at it, theres bound to be something decent within range of your detector.

Or more than likely it's been visited by Capability Brown.   Roll Eyes
A landscape gardener extraordinaire, for those who don't know the name and well known for moving mountains, forests, and lakes if they didn't suit.
