has anyone got any insurance company details for insurance whilst detecting ,the insurances offered   seems to be just for organised digs and does not cover when out by yourself,   its cover for the farmers if something happens to you whilst on there land for example getting trampled by a bull  i need, the framers are concerned a detectorist could sue them if an accident happened

yes but it could be that the person i spoke with did nt know what they were talking about , but also if you look on the ncmd site the info it gives in the insurance section only relates to clubs and businesses    the fid  seems to be little out of sorts at the momment so not sure what insurance is offered there

I just looked at the NCMD site and it says 'All members receive free civil liability insurance up to £10,000,000.... So can't be any more straighforward than that. No problem.

David NCMD and FID insurance is civil liability and doesn't cover injury to you only injury or damage to others as a result of your detecting Wink

iwhat the land owners are concerned about is if you get trampled by a herd of cows is he in troubleie sued by your family or the detectorist  and these policies are no good to him , he would have to have his own insurance to cover injury to the detectorist

I would have thought farmers usually have their own third party insurance to cover injury to anyone using their land.

yes a discalimer thats what i do i was hoping an insuarnce compant would do something   , but just  be aware that when a farmer or land owner asked if your insured yes is a true  answer but its no good to them only to you.
