A great read John. I have to agree about getting some decent pics of a nice find find before handing it in.
A few years ago I found a beautiful medieval gold ring which I only took a few snapshots of. I have since regretted not getting some decent shots, the ring was acquired by Chester museum and despite me visiting a couple of times, I havnt seen it since handing it in.

Yes, good read - I agree to that you should take lots of photos of your treasure finds - and try and avoid camera shake too!

Great story, as for the museums bargain price of £700 I do hope the finder and landowner agreed to donate part of the true value Roll Eyes because that seems a low valuation? Great find though  Wink
