In School we used to have exchange students from overseas, this has got me thinking..!!
As our beloved Wales is a smallish place, accessible from the North to South (and vice versa) in a couple of hours, what about inviting a couple of people to a Saturday private dig on your own patch of land? It would be a great idea for a maximum of 2 people to be invited, no stop overs just an early start and a good 6hrs detecting and home for tea and medals.

Thoughts?Huh

I think it's a good idea & also as I live not too far from Wales I'd like to swap a day with someone but only when the weather gets better.  Smiley

Brill idea Ste,only other welsh detectorists can understand how poor the welsh land is and how precious the scarse finds are to us so no embaressments just appreciation for each others hard work! Im up for it! Ian.

Do you think the farmer would like this ??  Maybe being his land you might  discuss this with him first ,as I know certain farmers that DON`T want lots of people wandering all over their land . They will usually begrudginly say ," OK two of you`s OK but i don`t want you bringing gangs here.".
So clear it with the farmer first. He /she probably will not mind a couple of you.

Jeb,
It just so happens that the farmer is a close friend and a drinking buddy. If i thought he would mind then i would'nt have posted it. Please dont think i am being rude, but don't assume people are stupid
