Victorian or Pre Roman ?

These two bronze/copper items came from the same site, a ridge on a hill. There's a Roman site off in one direction and a pre Roman burial site in the other.

Coil size is 11" to give an idea of scale. Both are solid metal.

An experts opinion was that they are Victorian coat hooks. Another expert sent me a picture of a burial waggon/cart that had two similar items sticking out with the reins hanging over them.

Anyone seen anything similar ?

I'm no expert Brian, but they look very much like they have been machine turned to my eyes, so I am weighing in on the Victorian side - sorry.  Also my local pub has very similar coat hooks to this.

the club i go to as got a old vicotian coat hanger, and they look just like
the ones you found good find though

Thanks lads. Much as I thought. I've held on to them for several years. Makes you wonder why anyone should take them up a hill to dump them.

could have been an old building there at one time, or stuff taken there for burning from a near by dwelling, or even kids carrying them around and throwing about,

Brian are those the same ones you showed me before?
if so they seem pretty long to be coat hangers.....perhaps thats why they've snapped off??

Ive had parts of electrical plugs in fields bits of furniture
mountins  coat hooks wouldnt put it past it
