Peter,

Found these 2 very worn coins today, plus the George 6d 1924
Both of bust side - heads seem to face to the right - same size as a George 1st shilling


Can you work the oracle???

Phil,nice finds, must be more where they came from,not much to go on for an id but i'm fairly sure they are William 111shilling's,i've had lots in similar condition and it is common for them to be very worn. Smiley

Went at 11ish in my t shirt, boiling hot - same field as last week, found the one just yards up on the cobble path you found under the ground and the other up by the house

Nice finds phil simons right on the iD.I had one silver sixpence vicky 1879 mate up manmoel and a couple of coppers.I thought you wasnt going out today? Grin

I agree too deffo billy III the quiff of hair just visible clinches it
I have never found a good condition coin of his reign and i have
found many sixpences/shillings but all virtually worn flat.
Probably more to come from that site good luck and well found...PaulB. Cool
