Had 3 hrs on the beach not much of an idea what I'm doing so headed down to the surf,  and walked across surf line but alas it's was coming in too fast so angled myself back to to the dry sand.  My best find was a 10p and a small oak Tree pendant silver,  I've never worked so hard for so little 36 ring pulls and bits of aluminium.

Way to go Al. Grin    Now you know why I don't go that often.  Takes me days to get over a good session and still come home with nothing.
Had a £1 coin the time before last and thought, great, that's my contribution to the parking meter. Guess what........it kept spitting it out, must have been one of those 4.5 million fakes. Roll Eyes

Keep at it, you just never know.

Val,  there is a stream running down the beach would it be worth having a go where it runs into the surf.  I couldn't see any sand ripples or gullies.  I didn't dig any black sand up either.

One thing's for sure Al, all you'll find where you're standing in the pic' is latest drops.  Sand looks high.  Streams and gullies are always good places. Look out for pebble patches and low spots. Try to get a bit further down towards low tide. You should start to find shallower sand with black underneath.
I guessed the beaches would be well sanded up with the wind direction lately.  It doesn't take much to bring it back. Keep trying, the exercise is good and it's something to do instead of watching the rubbish on telly or keeping the local land lord in luxury.

Patience and determination is the key old son. Each trip helps you to build up more knowledge and information on your selected beach.

The other week, my four year old grandson took five jigsaws and placed all the pieces in one box; it made for an interesting hour trying to build up the pictures and return them to the correct boxes. Well; my regular beach at Talacre is a little like that and one never knows if the next find is going to be; decimal, pre-decimal, WWII projectiles, copper maritime nails, Georgian coppers, or perhaps a little bit of gold!
