That must be telepathy Alan.  I popped into my neighbours today for some eggs and handed over 3 £1 coins. One of them was shiny but a brassy colour and it started a discussion on forged coins. He said he wasn't bothered if it was forged as long as the bank took it, and they usually do.
We wondered how many forgeries there are out there, now I know.

It's a very impressive looking coin but I s'pose it'll be like the coppers. got a heart of steel.

Time Team went to the steam press site where the cartwheels were produced a few years back.
