Seek and ye shall find

« on: October 10, 2014, 12:16:24 PM »

Hi All
My name is Alan Bateman and now retired I am able to get involved in an interest I have had for years but have been unable to find the time.
I started detecting many years ago with a detector my wife bought me as a present from Aldi ( I know you can’t expect much for £50) but it got me interested. I went out on the fields Grassed and never found anything of interest and knew I was looking in the wrong places. Undecided
Well now retired I have a lot more time to follow my hobbies and interests so I bought myself a Garrott 250...... I have been getting used to its operation for a few months now and had a few coins from the beach and a nice ring which has made the purchase worth while  Smiley
I have spent many hours in a deep local brook wrongly thinking I had discovered an old Roman road  Sad as I was told that a Roman sword had been unearthed in the area some years ago.
I am sure we will all meet up at a dig in the future and I look forward to that.
Happy detecting.
Regards
Alan (Al)
