Hi guys

Well, here's a challenge for one of DW's youngest members ... Before the experts offer their opinion on who it is, and its class, lets see if Ben can get the ID of the coin.

Me, i have no idea who it is ... except its got to be before Edward V [had to say that before Cheffy got in with it!] Grin Grin Grin

cheers

Hi Alan. It would help Ben (and me) if you told us the size of the coin in millimeters please.

Nice id Ben, your right its a Edward III halfpenny, second coinage (star marked) 9 times out of 10 the star looks like a blob, look after ANG on the obv and DON on the rev, and you will see what I mean.

Keep up the good work Wink

Wow, very well done Ben [aged 11/12] and thank you Dale for the encouragement. Its really pleasing to see one so young being able to ID such coinage. How you work out the different eddies, i just dont know!!   Huh Huh

Oh, and I'm so pleased that its eddie 3, as its only the 5th one i've found.!!!

Thanks guys,

I thought I did find an Edward III GROAT in March but it was actually Edward IV! It is 100 years after Edward III but it's still my best ever find and it's in great condition!
