I know this picture will make people think I'm crazy, but I generally take all my finds home and then clean them up so I can see what's worth keeping, what goes in my scrap buckets for my infrequent visits to the scrap dealer (ie lead and coppper alloy), what goes into recycling (iron and aluminium) and what goes in the bin (coke mostly). I do place very large bits of iron if dug in the bottom of a hedge.

The picture shows all my non-ferrous finds minus the ointment tubes (about a dozen) and a few bits of foil and shredded can.

I hadn't heard about a week long Rally.  How did I miss that  Roll Eyes

Did you really, seriously dig all that lot in one day Peter.  Shocked  hats off to you if you did. Bet your back felt it the next day.
