World War 11/111 Hoards!

In times of trouble people buried there family treasure in the ground and some never got back to recover it .All through history this happened and i remember small number of cottages crumbling in 1950s because the batchelor who owned the house had gone to war and never came back .They had no relatives and houses have now gone..But you wonder if a few sovereigns ,or halfcrowns or a gold pocket watch might have hidden close to the house..
