One of my permissions lost a 10 acre crop on a field due to an invasion of slugs. He had checked the crop the evening before and all looked well, when he went back next morning to spray he was devastated. There were slugs covering everything. I suppose he could have temporarily opened the field as a ski slope with all that slime about.
