Hi everyone,
I went to Thetford for a couple of weeks doing my bit for Queen and country.
As I was going to be surrounded by fields I decided to take my detector along
and try to get permission to detect, a great way to unwind after a long day shooting friends in mock battles.
Anyway I did manage to get permission on a field that had just had it's crop of carrots harvested.
I spoke to the tractor driver as he was having is break and he gave me the phone number of the farmer who owned the field
so I gave him a ring and he said yes,what a nice chap.I managed to get a couple of hours on about four occasions in the two weeks I was there,unfortunately I did not find anything that I could keep as the field was full of scrap what a shame.
The thing is that when I got home and checked my E-mails I had one from Facebook asking me if I knew these people and one of them was the farmer that I rang of permission to detect on his field,I did not give him my name and my call to him would have said unknown number,so how did facebook know that I had contact with him?Is that spooky or what?

No I'm not connected to the internet with my phone,but I did save the farmer as a contact.

Probably the same way I got 43 spam E.Mails yesterday.  Do you know how spam got it's name.?? I was trying to find out how to stop them and came across the explanation. It's down to the last episode of Monty Python. The word spam was used so many times some one suggested the internet would become like it. All spam and not much else.
And I still don't know how to stop it. Any suggestions ??

Thats how Facebook on the phone works dude, you may not think your connected but there's wifi at home and unless you have expressly forbid access then its accessing the net while you are out and about on the cellular network, I guarantee it....

I have seen similar on my phone BTW and yes you are right, BB is watching U...
