New Safari

So i bought a Safari off a guy named Chris from Caerphilly for an absolute bargain price.  Needless to say its my first minelab so i wanted to get out there with it as soon as...  This afternoon i decided to go down Pembrey beach to give it a whirl with some doubts from what id read about instability and the amount of tones it gives off.
Well needles to say im chuffed with it even though i didnt find a thing.  Its the first time i have been able to go on wet sand without a detector spazzing out.  I was very impressed that i was able to dig up a piece of buckshot from 9 inches in the sand.  Cant wait to get it out next and try the busier end of the beach or a field and see what i pull up.

Well done smudge, nice to hear you're pleased with the Safari so far.
 It is a good machine, especially on beaches.
Personally I find beaches very hard work. If you've got a 'messy' beach it calls for a lot of digging because the foil gives such good and different signals. I'm getting a bit long in the tooth for too much hard work so I prefer fields. Although they can be 'messy' it's mostly Iron and you soon learn what that sounds like and can ignore it.
